Nurit Peled-Elhanan

Prof. Nurit Peled-Elhanan is a lecturer in Language Education in the Hebrew University (retired) and in the David Yellin Academic College in Jerusalem. She has published about Israeli education, language development at school, and racism in Israeli educational discourse. Her publications include Palestine in Israeli school books. Ideology and propaganda in education (2012). A vocal defender of Palestine, she was Co-initiator of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine 2009-2014. Her several awards include the Sakharov Prize for Human Rights and the Freedom of Thought, awarded by the European Parliament.
